Madness Lived Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Madness Lived

From the 'have its',
To the had.
Overnight to have not.
Has got to be a madness lived.
Surrounded unsuspecting,
Reality on their doors to knock.
Enforced behind to leave.
The feeding of selfishness,
And personal greed.
Until their minds and bodies,
Are freed from a pandemic disease.

From the have its to the have it nots,
Sharing this experience,
With many others enslaved.
To a virus known to be man-made.
Hopefully this is another lesson,
Yet attached to the same message.
That the health of 'everyone',
Blessed and given a fragile life.
It does not take long,
To recognize what's wrong.
By the many who knew they could fix it.
But did not believe,
Themselves to become the victims.

Those who choose to feed their greed,
With a leaving those hungry and homeless...
Done to ignore,
Their responsibility to humanity.
Then portray themselves to be 'Christians'.
Serving to worship materialism and hypocrisy?
Will someday regret,
The cause that effects the actions created...
By their thoughtless, unconscious and unused,
Common sense.
