The blue sky was abruptly hidden
by dark clouds containing
droplets of rain.
Brightness of the mid-day sun
disappeared
all of a sudden.
Flashes of electric currents
lighted the sky,
sometimes with big,
sometimes small
geometric dimensions.
Loud bangs of thunderbolts
scared the heart
of animals and humans.
First slow drizzles were
followed by pitter-patter
of ceaseless shower.
Then rained cats and dogs,
gave birth to a nicely
fragrant petrichor.
This was the maiden downpour
after a long spell of
scorching heat of summer.
Both animals and plants
were looking frantically
at the sky for a heavy
flood of water.
The wait was over,
all became jubilant,
and the farmers started
tilling their farm land.
All paid their utmost gratitude
and reverence to the
life -saving rain God.
Rain is indispensable
for life of any
individual on the earth.
It helps producing wide varieties
of crops and foods
to sustain our life
and nourish our health.
