Makes Us Laugh Poem by Julia Luber

Makes Us Laugh

These are phases: Night ripped from unordinary circumstances,
a moon more marshmallow in some silken black plangency-
conforming feeling, seduction, tune to some kind of cartoon.
But somehow a story came to be to rip this cartoon into life
through time. Not simply the image that makes us laugh.

I'm glad you found it sweet. I was actually not in a sweet mood when I wrote it- I was feeling kind of 'acute.'
