Malignant Ignorance Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Malignant Ignorance

Many find a truth,
These days difficut...
To accept and face.
How their lives are being affected.
In ways taking place.
Kept to keep,
Truth maasqueraded.
On a daily basis to charade.

Let's take the game,
Of economics played.
Just to impress,
Those obsessed by a greatness...
Believed to have achieved,
Independently received to get.

Money is borrowed from Peter.
To pay overdue debts owed to Paul.
But the one who borrows from Peter,
Tells Paul to refuse...
A doing of any business,
With Peter at all.
Yet the products produced,
By Paul needs Peter to buy.
And can not rely,
On a malignant ignorance...
Every day that goes by.
Trying to satisfy,
One attempting to deny...
Reality to defy.

Many find a truth,
Difficult these days to use.
Or what or who to believe,
As their quality of life...
Effectively becomes reduced.
And those in positions sitting,
In leadership seats...
Reacting as if sheep.
Have joined forces with the wolves.
To pull the wool over our eyes.
While they stand in line,
Awaiting for their tailor made...
And customed designed blindfolds.

"What on Earth,
Is going on here? "

-That voice!
That VOICE!
Is that the voice,
Of God? -

"What difference does that make?
You have proven you're incapable,
Of listening.
Now that you have blinded yourselves,
Into blinding submission.
You want to know if I am God?
Are you nuts?
What makes you think God would admit,
Being involved in creating this craziness."

-Well...
Who are you? -

"Somebody here ordered a large pizza.
With anchovies, sausage, onions.
And green peppers on a thin crust.
I'm here to deliver it and want to get paid."
