Man Alone His Own Kind Slays Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Man Alone His Own Kind Slays

The guiles of spiders designed are to fetch
Poor unsuspecting prey, never own kind,
And leopards hunt alone with scheming mind;
A lion-pride defend itspride to latch
On any prey, even too big to catch;
But wild beasts kill to fill a hungry maw,
They kill, but uphold still an un-writ law:
Slay to survive or get slain if no match.

Willful they seldom slay souls of same kind,
Nor is hunting to them a pass-time game
For trophy, wall-display, nor photo frame.
Man alone to this law of life seems blind—
Who that in greed no fellow beast would spare,
Friend or foe; no flaw to him too unfair.
