Man And Trees Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Man And Trees

Rating: 5.0

Trees spread
their green foliage
branching long and wide
to grab maximum sunlight,
roots grow deep in search
of water and nutrients.

Man wander,
in search of food and mate.
But few walk like
Jagad Guru Adi Sankara
in search of knowledge
and to know Brahma.
One should.

Many people just live for leading a luxurious life but few wise people go on collecting spiritual knowledge. I admire what you say dear Unni Ji: But few walk like Jagad Guru Adi Sankara in search of knowledge and to know Brahma

I had visited Mount Abu a few years back, where there is a temple whose deity was consecrated by the Jagadguru and our guide took us to a cave where he sat in meditation

Wow! Good message from the poem that just like the trees we should be hungry for knowledge instead of only indulging in this material world.
