Man In The Sky Poem by Brittany Fegley

Man In The Sky

The crack in the ocean
Is where I lay
The oceans vultures
Eating away at me
Slowly, carefully, tenderly
Pieces of me float
Far far away
The seam where
The land and water
Meet
Is where pieces of my soul
Flaked
Before I fell asleep
My skin white as porcelain
My body as cold as ice
Death is not a dreamless sleep
I dream of life
Of what I miss
I dream of good
I dream of bad
The man in the sky
makes me dream
Dream in colour
And in Black and white
I remember
My death
It was that of a murder
I was bruised
And beaten
Crimpson rain
Pouring down my back
A sharp blade
Her hand
I stood until I couldn't stand
My last words
The world could hear
Was I'm sorry
I stabbed her figuratively
She stabbed me literally
Now I lay here
Full of forgiveness
My eyes will shut
Once I hear those words
Back
I hope it happens
As quick as lightning
I want my sleep
To be a dreamless sleep
Only good and pure
In this head
My soul will grow wings and
Fly
To that man in the sky
