Mandela, father of a nation.
‘Pon him the sun would set.
But his wisdom ever dawns
For his light is shining yet.
Shining ‘yon South Africa
To the nations of the world,
A life that has touched many-
This leading-father pearl.
Johannesburg now celebrates
The beauty of his legacy
As countless join to mourn
The sorrow of his vacancy.
Mandela for the life he’d live; -
A man who had so much to give.
**Note: Regrettably, I did not get to submit my condolences for Nelson Mandela’ passing because, disappointingly, my computer was out of commission. However, I’m taking the opportunity to submit it now.
