Many A Man Poem by Raymond Farrell

Many A Man

Many a man with money to spare
Seeking only to live in leisure
Daily passing the time without care
Outwardly pursuing the latest pleasure
Inwardly lacking both compass and guide
Has gone out and committed suicide

For money can't bring happiness
Nor contrived pleasure give joy
There is no purpose in idleness
Too much of it will purpose destroy
Without purpose, joy or happiness
A person suffers anguish and distress.

Surely doing that lends purpose to life and can be a source of joy and happiness.
