You devoted your life to your husband and to science,
did receive two Nobel prices,
but did pay a terrible price
as from radioactive material you were not free.
You and your husband did discover radium and polonium
did work in a distant shed while the hours did run till deep into the night
and you did get out of ten ton of pitch ore a decigram of radium
while the rain were at times leaking in through the roof.

She was a genius, true inspiration lady to all, as a scientist and as a human... Her spirit is not comparable to any especially during that era, not easy for women to rise.. She n her husband deserved a great recognition because of her contributions. Thanks Gert for this poetry you dedicated for her!
