Marshmallow Moments Poem by Myrtle Thomas

Marshmallow Moments

Marshmallow Moments

To fall into a wasteland of marshmallow fields
of soft sweetness and quiet songs in my head
pure white moon beams with dancing stars
a bridge on the milky way arriving at mars
collecting star dust in a golden pail
no tear drops nor sadness can be found
a vacuum of safety where splashes of blood don't exist
a place where human contact is a hug and a kiss

I've dreamt of such a peaceful place
where you know everyone by the look on their face

maybe one day in a land closer than we know

love will overpower murder and war
blooms of peace will flourish and grow
In the twilight of aging years
where pain and hurt have shed many tears
there is a place in heart where hope still dwells
a land of a little girl where peace and safety swells

Someday soon I hope to sleep and relax on a bed of marshmallows
where dreams turn to rose buds as the wind softly bellows
where the only red I see are the color of a flower
but it is just a dream for a place of peace , is not in my power

i hear the news it's content so grim
bloodshed and murder seem to be a normal thing
insanity and anger, finding genuine love is slim
one day soon our world will change, under the government of Christ our King

One day life will be pure white
where pain, death and tears have taken flight.
No remembrance of past life we'll never recall
(if we heed God's word and answer his call.)
