Masterpiece Setting Poem by Patricia Gale

Masterpiece Setting

Watching the crescent moon slowly descend
Falling further down into the earth
Illuminating the land with evening stars
Setting the scenery for the morning rise

Brilliant ball of fire slowly rising
The stars seem to surrender to its beauty
Rays of orange and red streak across the sky
Like fingers reaching across the early morning blue

The song of the day beginning
As the robin brings forth her orchestra
Cardinal Red, Jays of blue,
A small beauty of yellow gold and the hawk sounds its mighty cry

Soft maple trees sway to the rhythm
Lavender colored lilacs add their essence of peace
Beauty adorns the rose as her petals open to feel the warmth of the morn
Tenderly she opens releasing the way for a honey bee

My eyes captivated by this portrait of nature
Breathless for the moment
I give thanks to the artist
And become absorbed into his works
