Circles And Lines - Poem by Patricia Gale

With pen in hand my mind begins to wonder
Circles and lines half written
Then your name appears
Next to I love you

I try not to think of you
But the heart has a mind of its own
Being almost independent and strong willed
It has the say for the night

The paper becomes filled with thoughts of you
Desires, longing moments
Dream states left unvisited
A sigh forms and it begins again

Circles and lines
Dots and hoops
Hearts filled with I love you
Creating the dream that comes every night

Circles and lines appear.... I love how simply and elegantly you speak of the freehand expression of our hearts (Report) Reply

Circle and lines is an interesting association with words and eventually love and persons. I have often thought of describing love and the beloved with geometrical and geographical expressions but have not yet done so. This is, by no means, a new association since photographs and drawing of the human body are just circles and lines. (Report) Reply

I like the complete use of passive voice, like it's entirely out of one's control. (Report) Reply

Nice, PG. I like the imagery! The continuum and enclosure of something
    unavoidable; inescapable!
