Circles And Lines - Poem by Patricia Gale

With pen in hand my mind begins to wonder
Circles and lines half written
Then your name appears
Next to I love you

I try not to think of you
But the heart has a mind of its own
Being almost independent and strong willed
It has the say for the night

The paper becomes filled with thoughts of you
Desires, longing moments
Dream states left unvisited
A sigh forms and it begins again

Circles and lines
Dots and hoops
Hearts filled with I love you
Creating the dream that comes every night

No wonder people go mad with love. Hearts of true love can use practically anything to express his/her feelings, just the same way poetess here uses circles and lines. Congrats for being the member's PoD. Thanks for the poem of profundity. (Report) Reply

A poem of miraculous discovery. Miraculous to discover something obvious, in full view, but not consciously observed. Until the truth, like geometry, cannot be evaded, cannot be questioned. The most difficult thing is often the most simple. This poem blows the obscuring dust off the heart with gentlest of breath. (Report) Reply
