May The Time Affirm Poem by Perdita Young (Hanna Wang)

May The Time Affirm

In my heart you will be forever young,
Even though our green years are already gone.
The past has been stored in an old album,
Where you smile beyond the time, a sweet song.

Many a night I've dreamed of the same lane,
Where leaves and petals fell on old man's cane,
Where I heard known names called from some window,
Asking their loved ones back, for the meals plain…

In vain I've called for you, who tried to flee,
For ball games or river swims with boys free;
You lost in the dim, and I saw montage,
My voice was echoed by the wall and tree...

A long-lost of mine? I couldn't that affirm,
Through the dusty silk screens worn by Age's worm.
Haply luck would blossom once again,
When felicity comes close with steps firm.
