Medium Poem by Abhay Vignesh Liginlal

A ghost is knocking at the door of my life
Haunting me in the night’s darkness
Hiding within a cloak of mystery & wearing the veil of pale death;
Why do I fear my own shadow, the world is never at its feet,
I try to escape from this island of myself, to the world outside,
I am scared of every tremor around me as it breaks the monotony
This fear is a prank played on me by emotions
Yet this ghost is a delusion in the greater illusion of life
Haunting the depth of darkness, in the middle of the night,
I am a bard cursed to wander forever on the shore of time
Singing endlessly of forsaken days of love
The world will sit on an easy chair
Reading about days of both joy and sorrow in the same mood,
Yet who is there to really hear what I say
Some unknown poet keeps listening
I am a phoenix bird & he rises from my ashes
My only desire is that the world should hear
About my broken love, through him,
Let it buy him fame and money, my love will not go in vain
Neither material wealth nor love belongs to me
I am a spirit cursed to wander unseen, let my love remain in the world.
