Melanin Damsel Poem by Fantone Mdala

Melanin Damsel

Rating: 5.0

There's something graceful about her
Something that can sweep a Persian prince off his feet
Like the ocean waves off the Durban shore
Striding with pride yet exquisite

Her puffy hazel eyes are succulent with life
Suiting her radiant yet benevolent melanin skin tone
Vibrant with the kiss & glow of the sun
That enchants & beckons one's attention

Her posture betters that of the oak tree
Majestic and confident yet simple and sweet
Like that of a humble blue-blooded princess
Fiery with the desire lacking nuisance

Her smile is but another wonder
Heavens rejoice whenever she grins
Making everyone left in a deep ponder
That feeling one gets from a gin hangover

Her fleshy lips wear a shade of crimson red
Denoting that color of the Jambula fruit
Wielding the beauty of a bonfire in the night
Burning a treasured smudge in the mind
A testimony of her greatness
