Memories Poem by Anabel Anguiano

Memories

Rating: 5.0

I have a lot of memories
Of myself under that table
In that dark room.
I have weird memories
That I don’t know
If they are true.
Memories that hunt my dreams.
It makes me feel
I live in there.
In my dreams.
I have memories
I wish they were dreams.
Nightmares are too real in my mind.
I look up to the sky;
I get lost in the stars
Maybe there is a world for me?
Beyond this land,
Away from all this pain,
It hurts too much,
That it makes me wonder
If this is my real life.
I see the solitude streets
Going up and down,
An image flashes in my mind
And a hole in my heart.
Little things like this
Makes me doubt,
I am confused
It makes no sense at all.
I close my eyes.
Sometimes I hope
To never wake up
I would love to live in dreamland.
But then there are stars
In the sky that I can’t let go of them,
They are my only reason to open my eyes
…one of them is you.

I would love to live in dreamland. But then there are stars In the sky that I can’t let go of them, They are my only reason to open my eyes …one of them is you This is the saving grace, Anabel, just fantastic; the rest will still live with you - nightmares; memories under or on top of the taable, and more; dreams. For you keep your eyes open and there are stars, there will always be stars, if we would only raise our glance to the heavens, as you have marvellously done, Anabel. ____________________________________________
