Mending The Pain Poem by Josh Burnett

Mending The Pain

Tell me sweet one, why is your heart lost?
Tell me how it can be found and I'll pay the cost.
I see the tears creep from your eyes as you wonder why.
You get hurt every time, on my shoulder I will let you cry.
Please don't tell me you're ready to give up and die.
There's so much that's left to fight for,
And I won't let you hurt anymore.
I will mend the pieces that are tore.
I will try to make your life a better world.
Only for you my loving girl.

Let my fingers brush away every tear.
Let my heart take away every fear.
You can run and hide under my arm,
And I will bear your every care.

Don't let me wait for too long,
Because I won't do you wrong.
Please come to where you belong.

Don't let the weight of the world burden those fragile shoulders.
I will be your soldier.

Look into my deep eyes and you will find that I don't lie.
How could anyone hurt such a fragile human being?

I know that it's so hard to trust,
But I will be there with my love.

In time pain will mend,
But really it takes the love of someone.

Someone to hold you tight,
And say that everything will be alright.
Someone to kiss you on the forehead,
And tell you goodnight.
Someone you can feel their heart,
And know that it will all be fine.
Someone you know who can call you mine.

It will take someone who won't rund and hide,
But will show you how to have the time of your life.
Someone who will stand by you and help you fight.
someone who will always treat you right.

You ask how can time mend the pain?
I tell you it only heals if you let it and forget it,
And it takes just a little touch of love.
