Can’t believe I found it standing
There just filling empty spaces
Inside my head’s pulsating mystique
Of crumbling under these stages.
Lifeless pressure of life in danger
Of crawling back into its hole,
Where behind veins and horrors
Dipped beneath I found it waiting.
Close my eyes to see it clearly,
Hoping not to scare away
The one true thing that I’m containing
Within others so fake and jaded.
I don’t think my eyes believe what
They have found, I’ll give it to you.
Treasured statue so tall and gilded,
Breaking out of darkness to loom.
Behind your bead it watches you sleep,
It thinks about you constantly,
You may think it has a problem,
It’s just quite obsessed with your beauty.
Argue with it all the time now,
Fighting, cutting, bleeding onto
Your sheets from where it thought it had
The one last night that I had with you.
Blatantly I grieve of mistakes,
I killed it and now you’re gone…
Why did you forsake my hollow,
Branchless, dying, hopeless, torn
Surface upon where we last ate,
Where I found it, where I killed it.
Now so dead it eats at my insides,
My heart’s a broken soul.
The minute I lost it from my life,
You walked out of that door.
Well I guess I gave up
So long ago,
This is where it bleeds out,
Descending unto this hold.
Right in front of me, I believe it,
I’ve seen it, it exists, I swear to you.
I may be the only one that perceives it,
But it’s still there, it’s right where we left it.
Broken love is as unexplainable as love in itself, yet you do a good job of describing it.
I really like this poem and your use of words. I like how it all leads up to the last line. Keep up the good writing! Thank you for sharing this with us!
