Mischievous Time! Poem by RAJ NANDY

Mischievous Time!

MISCHIEVOUS TIME!

Time they say is a great teacher, but it kills
its pupils all the while!
Time is also a great healer, a magician with
guile!
But Time is the worst beautician, it crumples
you up with age,
Till the mirror one day reflects, a withered and
old visage!
Time is the worst miser, who loans you out a
few years,
And charges your life as lien, and tries to allay
your fears!
Yet our days are all numbered, and each moment
is a loan,
Time remains illusory and decptive, its mysteries
are unknown!
The Greek Heraclitus had rightly proclaimed, -
Every thing on earth is only flow and change!
O Time how I wish, I could hold you by the
locks,
Before you begin to fly away, and the future gently
unlocks!
