Misgivings - Poem by Kimar Young

These inescapable binds
these bottomless wells
are where our minds
so sorrowfully dwell

This jagged black mountain
the dispassionate seas
are where cruelty contends
with hate and jealousy

Our lives and futures built on lies
that trigger ripples of confusion
Doubting even our own eyes
our thoughts dark voids of delusion

We spiral mindlessly along
speeding toward our ultimate demise
For all our perceptions were wrong
our Samaritan was Satan in disguise
