Miss My Brother Already

Rating: 5.0
Why do I cry
Before he's even gone?
He's just signed up.
He always wanted to
Serve our country.
He always wanted to
Be in uniform.
With his gun in hand,
He'll protect our great land.

Why does it hurt
To remember growing up?
From sleeping on bunkbeds,
And our crazy pillow fights.
Swimming at the park
With mommy and daddy.
Watching him go on the bus
His first day of school.

That hill outside,
Used to be so big to us.
We'd ride our bikes,
And pop some willies.
He taught me these tricks.
Flips and cartwills,
And hand stands too.

When he gets on that plane,
It'd be silent,
In the room next to mine.

Walks in the woods,
And climbing in trees,
We've done alot growing up.

Fighting with bamboo rods
We cut down ourselves.
Playing with fire and gun powder,
Watching the flames go.

As a little sister,
I depend on my big brother.
Who's gonna ask me
If I'm ok when I'm crying?
Who's gonna teach me
To play a xbox game?

Who's gonna grab his gun
When the dogs bark and growl?
Whos gonna shoot the snakes?

I remember picking blackberries,
And eating them at grandma's
With milk and suger.

I watched him play with his dogs.
I watched him as he learned
To ride a bike,
To drive a car,
To ride a motorcycle.
I watched him as he rides away.

Rollerskating in the house
When mamma wasn't home.
And pokeing holes in our walls.
Getting ready for church.
Throwing frisbees and playing catch.

One time he even let me do his hair.
Four ponytails and a bow
All in his dark hair.

His big ole grin
Lights up his face.
His eyes light up,
When he's joking around.

The many talents he has
Is singing and reading
And making people laugh.
He, in his own way, cares.
He's tough as a doornail,
Sometimes gives out hugs.

He hasn't even left yet,
My strong Army brother,
And I already miss him.
