Miss The View Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Miss The View

She's the port I sail to
In my dreams
In the distance where sea
Meets the sky.
I dance on wave after wave
Of anticipation.
Dark skies left behind
In perfect memory.
The sparkle of lights
Bleed through the miles.
Time we'll probably never get
Back, hoisted in the sails.
The snap loud & tight,
A hopeless dreamer
In search of rescue.
She's swallowed my dreams
And hid them in the sunset.
A hopeless dreamer
In search of rescue.
I follow the lights
With every intention of
Springing a leak.
Time I know I'll never get back.
She's the port I sail to
In my dreams.
Sometimes I go there
Just to go.
But
Sometimes I go
Because I miss the view
