Miss You Much (My Nephew) Poem by Vallerie Lobell

Miss You Much (My Nephew)

I rocked the baby and hummed Danny Boy,
While the aquarium softly bubbled,
The boys are gone, I am alone,
So painful, as my heart is troubled,

When I got the call this morning,
Not Jason, not Jason, was all I could say,
His name in the obituary did not make it real,
Oh what a cursed and hateful day,

How can you console another?
When your heart is just as broken,
How can you pull away from the embraces?
And know what words should be spoken,

Through one of my most trying times,
He held my world in his caring hands,
How deeply his help meant to me,
You could not begin to understand,

He accomplished much in his short life,
And left behind his legacy,
Three great kids and a loving wife,
He was all that he should be,

I found no comfort in the night sky,
When I went to sit outside,
I know he would not want me to,
So I did not ask God why,

The world is not as it was before,
It's lightness is gone I fear,
Our Prince will now wear a crown,
But he will be so dearly missed down here,
