Mistakes To Make Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Mistakes To Make

Stepping on someone's foot unconsciously.
Can be forgiven as a mistake to make.
Being color blind,
And putting on sox without a design.
Later to find those sox not to match,
Can be forgiven as a mistake to make.
Enjoying a date with someone to appreciate.
Then to become enchanted...
With it wished to want romance and sex.
Not as enjoyable as one thought to get.
Admitting it to say,
"I have had better sex when alone by myself! "
Can not be then expected to be forgiven,
As an unconscious mistake to have made.

This to admit regardless how honest,
Could lead to desperate times hoping to find...
Anyone just as desperate,
Who doesn't mind...
Being asked if they prefer,
Sex with or without sox.
And if those sox have to match!

"Huh?
What did you just ask me?
After you turned off the lights.
And put that 'classical' music on.
If I'm into the Boston Red Sox? ? ?
Am I misunderstanding you? "

-About the music or the sox? -
