Modern Love Poem by Mark Heathcote

Modern Love

Modern love is in its infancy-
so, why don't you kiss me?
Why don't you digest me?
Like a battery leaking acid?

Have I not been initiated?
Doubled up in your limbs,
temperance isn't resistance
it's a prison without bars.
