Mojave Sky Poem by Juan Olivarez

Mojave Sky

Rating: 5.0

Mojave sky, cerulean blue,
The unforgiving sun shines down.
The complete lack of morning dew,
Upon the sandy ground.

Mojave sky, so clear at night,
That I can see for miles.
The stars up high shine ever bright,
I long to be out in your wilds.

Mojave sky, you kept my heart,
And with you it is still.
Cruel destiny forced us to part,
Oh how I miss your rocky hills.

Mojave sky, do you miss me,
Do you wonder where I roam?
Have you wondered where I could be,
Longing to find me at home?

Mojave sky, watch for me,
My presense you will feel.
When I walk again that vast dry sea,
Someday I will return to you, I will.
