Mona Lisa Poem by Amy Carmichael

Mona Lisa

You are reduced to a few sharp lines.
Your whole life pales
Like your background
Beside your elusive Smile.

Never tell that secret hidden behind your lips

That a woman doomed to the history books
For a Smile,
Smiles in vain.
