Monday Morning Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Monday Morning

Rating: 5.0

The scent of my coffee was floating underneath my nose
But I didn't want to get up
And prepare it with cream and sweetener
I wanted to stay here in bed with you
With yr cold hand slapped on my forehead
Checking my temperture
Thinking I was catching yr fever
You said I was being lazy and wanted to sleep in
As you went to wash up
I wasn't feeling right, I said
But when you came into the bedroom
Soaking wet and naked, you smiled
And kissed my forehead; saying I was fine
I was disappointed that you thought I was lying
Still, I didn't feel well
However, I dragged out of bed and made my coffee
