Moonlight Poem by Christopher Forrister

Moonlight

Rating: 5.0

The light that shines to brighten
the darkest night of all
glinting silver bullets
all around me fall
I call to you completely
to save me from my hell
the light you shine is heaven
the depths are where I dwell
The luxury of your warmth
a price there is to pay
waiting ever patiently
to be with you one day
but the light you shine is dimming
you've left me to the dust
I fear the dark will take me
but I know it must
Oh goddess do you know me
or care about my plight
that I could only stay with you
and bask in your moonlight
Queen of peace please do return
of you I do implore
So I can tread the land of death
and wait for you once more
