Morning - Springs's Calling Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

Morning - Springs's Calling

7: 02 a.m. EST
Morning opened her eyes and
welcomed spring.

There she is, singing in the rain
again,

Sunrise
hiding her limpid
Smile
behind the morning mist
not yet kissed...

The little rabbit runs
The daffodils sway
early deer
looking both ways

hearing the tin pans
chime alarms
go back
go back!

A spring morning
and though I am late
To rise
Sunset's eyes
flicker
In the distant sky.
