Main kehti hoon main
aur ek macHHar
dono peety hain meri jeebse
lakin bahut log kehtay hain, nahin: siraf hum hi -
tum and vo - aur main sunti hoon unay kehtay hue:
kya kar lo go tum i samasya se
jo apne dono hathoN se katora pakdta hai
katoray ko khud bhar nahin sakta
kehti hai ye doodh pilanay wali macHli
kehtay hain ye sagar k keeDay-makoDay
kehta hai sagar smasya ye hal kar do kisi k liyay
aur fir, sub apne kul ko bhaDanay main lag jatay hain
ek keeDi jab chalti hai
us k pairoN se zameen se awaaz nikalti hai
baraf paani ko dekh karhairaan ho jaati hai
apni behoshi kisi shaksh ko jadwar k phool si lagti hai
aur vo cHeenk martay hue shaanti se
apni sundar neend main pad jaata hai
loag oonghnay lag jaatay hai.

Mosquito - Poem by Jane Hirshfield
I say I
&
a small mosquito drinks from my tongue
but many say we and hear I
say you or he and
hear I
what can we do with this problem
a bowl held in both hands
cannot be filled by its holder
x, says the blue whale
x, say the krill
solve for y, says the ocean, then multiply by existence
the feet of an ant make their own sound on the earth
ice is astonished by water
a person misreads
delirium as delphinium
and falls into
a blueness sleepy as beauty when sneezing
the pronoun dozes
