Mother- A Light House Of Love - Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Many mothers die
as one day or another
we have to leave this world,
but mothers who die
leaving children
from their bosom
into the arms of the father
portrays a picture of pain where
when the little child will cry
seeking the warmth, the comfort
the care and kisses
his mother would give;
silently without words
yet with little mournful cries
he will search for that mother
he will pine for her love and affection
which only that child knows
as she was so valuable to him
in his growing years
to fill him up with strength,
courage and determination
that every mother imparts
when for the first time
she catches his little fingers
and asks him to walk on.
And till her hair is gray
and eyes look through spectacles
she is there for him
like a fortress
guarding him, guiding him
waiting for him
but when young mothers die
when their children are little babies
the lighthouse of love vanishes;
O' mother where will your child look up
for that love and comfort he seeks?
