Motherhood- Nature's Best Gift! Poem by Savita Tyagi

Motherhood- Nature's Best Gift!

A quick flash of memory
The pleasure of motherhood invoked!
So captivating was the bond of mother and child.
Running after me on his knees
His wobbly body passionately
Trying to reach me!
Even few seconds of my departure
And his intense effort to be with me,
His laughter and chuckle
To see me return from other room!
All that split second flash back
Filled me up with immense delight.
With gratitude I prayed to Supreme Mother
Don't let me lose this love for a child
Even if s/he isn't mine.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Note: Taittiriya Upanishad describes the Brahmananda (Bliss of Divine) having many forms and layers stressing that ‘This Brahaman itself is Ananda'. If the Truth of Supreme Being is Ananda, then a Child and a mother are the best personified form of that Ananda. ‘Matra Devo bhava'- Mother is the first form of God. The poem above is the outcome of a morning dream impression.
