Mothering Poem by Christina Simmons

Mothering

'Keep man woman must ignore needs exist only to please him'.

Who says a mother has to sacrifice happiness - (a martyr suffers in silence) for children she bore in agonising circumstances relying solely on them to give the go ahead, 'OK. Mum we love you. Go on! ' But words never comes....

Instead cruel, brutal emotional games are played
Hoping to destabilise, weaken her spirit until motor can no longer support fragile torso

Heart is wrench apart - broken and rip to shred - wild beasts seems salvaging; merely dying broken-hearted too afraid standing on own 2 feet; Bold and assertive yet today a compliant buffoon
'Let go! Let go!

So what! Gave birth....but not your property
Tired of waiting: Swear undying loyalty - worship ground you walk on
World hasn't come to an end still alive! Exist only for yourself
Mother nature is spreading her wings thieving and thriving
HELPLINE, LIFELINE sustains the journey
