Mountainous Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Mountainous

Mountainous,
Is the avalanche of truth.
A running away to escape from it,
Will take a miracle to perform.
And the greatest magician,
Much too late to create.
And long overdue to produce.

Hiding in shelters,
Afraid of the effects...
Ignored on doorsteps.
As dribbles and drabs,
Had come from the dust...
Left to leave unswept to regret.
Drifting in homes.
Covered up under rugs.
To stumble over yet this to accept,
No one protests.

But inside and outside,
That avalanche of truth prevails.
Mountainous.
And traveling faster,
Than a volcano heard...
In the distance erupting,
Spewing molten lava.
And boulders bigger than mansions.
