Moving On Poem by Ishita Yadav

Moving On

Someone just asked me, if I knew you,
I say no escape, no chance to kid,
a million memories flashed through my head,
but I just said I did.

We used to talk for hours on end,
just look at us now.
I want us to be what we were,
I just don't know how.

We used to walk hand-in-hand,
why didn't I see through your pretence?
The smiles, the tears, the memories,
we called ourselves best friends!

But now whenever I think of you,
the laughs don't come to my mind.
The tears and sorrows after you,
is all that I can find!

I have struggled through your betrayal
and tears have been fought from.
but now that some time has passed,
I have learnt to move on!

I tell myself, you are not the only one,
I'll find someone in time,
someone with trust and faith and bond
the words which I can rhyme.

For now I am proud to say,
I've learnt what's right from wrong,
I thank you in the end,
for making me more strong!
