Moving On To Step 2 Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Moving On To Step 2

If together,
We can agree upon...
What is observed and seen.
Without arguing over,
A presence to wish...
Different than it is.
The next step for us to take,
Would eliminate being competitive...
In a wanting to win an argument,
To start it.
Over nothing to make something,
That is not to be forgotten.

"There you go again.
Trying to be logical.
When you won't take into consideration,
My opinion at all.
Just to have it 'your' way."

You know,
You are absolutely right.

"Oh no.
I'm not going to fall,
For that...
Reverse psychology stuff.
And you're not going to make me,
Feel stupid, either."

So...
And this is only a suggestion.
Not to offend you.
If you had felt stupid before,
Would or shouldn't you feel...
More familiar with that choice,
To pick?
You know...
The one that is more obvious.

"I'm not going to argue with you."

Great.
We're making progress.
Now...
Moving on to step 2.
