Music's Power Poem by gershon hepner

Music's Power

“Music is both touching and enriching,
and in addition is a lot of fun, ”
said Anna Sophie-Mutter. As bewitching
as starlight when there is no moon or sun
to blot out points of starlight whose existence
is so obscure we cannot love them much
is music’s power than can bridge the distance
between us and a space-time we can’t touch.

Inspired by a statement Anna Sophie-Mutter made Dennis Bartel when interviewed by him on KUSC. She say music was touching and enriching and a lot of fun. Dennis Bartel proved her point by playing a recording of Anna-Sophie playing the first movement of the first Bruch Violin Concerto. It was her third record, made when she ws only 18 years old and was conducted by Herbert von Karajan.
