My Colors Poem by Shelby Hrvat

My Colors

Rating: 4.0

Never have I seen color-
Only black and white
Never had I thought about
Seeing color; one day, I might.

Sometimes I do remember
A color described as blue
This strange occurence happened
The first time that I saw you.

Blue was a beautiful color,
In each and every shade
But just as quickly as it appeared-
The blue began to fade.

In its place was a new color-
One that i had heard called red
And you were covered by its tincture
No beating heart; for you were dead.

So sad you had to leave me
Strangely, I miss that somber day-
Now I see in black and white again
For my colors, like you, have gone away.
