All gathered together and dressed in black
As their teardrops flood the ground
All standing, but the one in the center
No sobs, no tears, no sound.

Down, down, falling faster
As if I'm in a dream
My voice drowns in the darkness
For no one can hear me scream.

I vowed never to tell you-
But now, you simply must know
For after I tell you this brief story,
I still want you to board the plane and go.

I hear the wind's melodic whisper-
And it tells me many things;
The wind, it has its wisdom-
Listen child, to the song it sings.

I wait in anticipation
For you to one day see
That I'm different on the inside-
Than I appear to be.

I put on my brand new necklace,
Along with my favorite dress,
Changed my shoes and makeup,
Fixed my hair that was a mess.

Oh how I long for a day
To see the sky so blue
To roll around in the wildflowers-
Just lie there, holding you.

I remember when everything
Was so easy to figure out
But now, it seems that my life today
Is filled with struggle, fear, and doubt.

He mixes the paint so carefully,
Always the perfect shade,
A new color discovered every day
Only he sees the mistakes he made.

Never have I seen color-
Only black and white
Never had I thought about
Seeing color; one day, I might.
