My Crystal Fountain Poem by Mabel Akena

My Crystal Fountain

Let my crystal fountain tumble like sulphur
And burn impressions into the ground
Whence I stand,
When words have failed me
And emotions deserted me.

And all's left is but this salty lake
That flows upon my visage,
burning
A trail from their bountiful source
Leaving none but scalding marks
On its descent of expression.

Spent I stare, expression beyond this
I cannot come to muster.
This crystal waters that soothe
So stealthy my soul,

That, do so little to change the odds
But that bring me such sweet and
Unsettling peace,

So I let lose my dams, to let flow.
My crystal fountain that needs neither
Words in explanation nor
Speech in expression; the flowing crystal
Waters from above.
