My Fellow Americans Poem by Jim Franckum

My Fellow Americans

The candidates shout please observe us
They promise free programs with service
Forget about labor
It's paid by your neighbor
So how come I'm feeling quite nervous

This is a perfectly executed limerick. It has the correct rhyme pattern and the ideal number of syllables in each line (9-9-6-6-9) . I also perfectly fits today's political situation in the U.S., even though it was written more than a year ago! Well done, Jim!
