My Guiding Star - Poem by Ivy Christou
Thank you for reminding me
That no matter how old I am
I will always be your precious child
And that age really doesn’t matter
When I seek comfort in your arms.
Thank you for not choosing my path for me
and for not dreaming for me.
Instead you dreamed with me
And you taught me that everything is possible
When you believe in your own strength.
Thank you for being my life saving lighthouse,
Every time my soul lost its way
And for not losing your faith in me.
Thank you for loving me, for who I am,
A common child,
And an even more common adult,
nothing special for no one else except you.
Thank you for being a bright star in my cloudy sky.
I can not always see you
But I know you are there
Patiently waiting for the night to come
And for the storm to pass..
I love you my guiding star
