My Heart Will Guide Me Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

There's this deep little yearning,
To do my very best,
To write a special poem,
I'll just let my heart do the rest,
And as i write,
Those memories,
Come drifting back to me,
I'm drifting with emotion,
Like a ship on a calm dreamy sea,
I feel the tears emerging,
Into my eyes they flow,
For this is the place I'm happy to be,
And so my poem grows,
Full of fond reminders,
Of long gone yesterdays,
These are my heartfelt memories,
I share with you each day.
A poet i will always be,
For it is in my veins,
I feel it in my poetry,
In the sun,
In the stars,
In the rain.
