My Love Poem by Josh Burnett

My Love

My love is like a time bomb ticking away,
And it's sitting there waiting to blow up in your face.
Will you be knocked off your feet or not even phased?
Will you grab my heart or just throw it away?
I know I'm sick about you, but I'll be okay.

It's never really hurt so bad like this.
I can't just really give up and quit.
I take one look at you and know this is it.
This is what I wanted to feel deep within.

It's a thousand poison needles running through me,
And the blood stops running through my veins.
My whole body goes white when I see your face.
Please girl tell me that you will stay.

I have never felt like this.
I have never known any girl.
That I've wanted in the whole wide world.
You make my whole head spin in a whirl.

I know I wear my heart on display,
And I never wanted to play that game,
But some of the things never change,
And it will always stay that way.

Until I've got you holding you in my arms.
Even though you always seem so far.

I know the truth inside my heart,
And that is exactly where it's suppose to start.

Give me that firecracker kiss,
And let me taste the honey on your lips.
I love to take it in bit by bit.
My heart dances within and my eyes spin.

Every time I look at you it get's harder to see.
My heart pounds wildly and it get's harder to breathe.
My mind knows exactly what I have to need.
To go on I just need such a simple thing.

Girl tell me will you give it all up.
Will you be standing there with your love.
You know that I will never get enough.
You are standing there like a lonely dove.

I know I wear my heart on display,
And I never wanted to play that game,
But some of the things never change,
And it will always stay that way.

I know the truth inside my heart,
And that is exactly where it's suppose to start.
