My Place Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

My Place

My place is not where you put me.
Or decide I should stay and remain.
Neither do I have requests,
You may be prepared to accept or reject.
But this place I have been given,
Has been a gift from God, The Almighty.
And for 'whatever' the reason,
I feel I am here to please the wishes of God...
Accuse HIM and not 'me',
For a doing of this selfishly.
Afterall,
In 'my place'...
Only one shadow do I cast.
Until this experience from me passes away.
And in my place I will stay,
To know it as a blessing.
