My Poking Nose - Humorous Poem by M. Asim Nehal

My Poking Nose - Humorous

Rating: 5.0

Beware of my seemingly innocent countenance,
It may deceive you, but those who have witnessed it,
will always remember, the difficulty they faced,
not due to my proboscis (nose) ,
but because it intrudes in everyone's business,
be cautious and beware. I cannot recall when it began,
but it has persisted since then,
no subject or individual has escaped my sense of smell,
I am certain that my nose possesses a power,
that all substances are drawn towards it.
Initially I was embarrassed, but now I am used to it,
and I feel regretful for those who have;
encountered my intrusive nose,
my close acquaintances are familiar, but for others,
their initial encounter will be challenging and uneasy.

Are you reminded of Pinocchio's nose or
Amitabh Bachchan's nose? Absolutely not, one thing is certain,
there is no substance that my nose has not detected,
It has a magnetic pull that draws all things, and as a result,
I have faced many uninvited problems -
that chase me relentlessly, once I attempted to rid myself of it,
but all my efforts were in vain, and wherever I went,
it attracted their difficulties and placed me in danger.

Now I live in seclusion, In a distant place,
maintaining a safe distance from all sorts of trouble,
hoping that this lengthy nose will forget the art of intrusion.

Human nature is tough to change, Now I live in seclusion, In a distant place, maintaining a safe distance from all sorts of trouble, hoping that this lengthy nose will forget the art of intrusion.

How to control nose poking is never taught anywhere, one learns it by hard ways. Good humorous poem with underline lesson. Thoughtful and thought provoking.

'What does poking his nose in expression mean? ... poke one's nose into, to. To interfere, to meddle.... THERE are some in the international community who would be quick to accuse US president George Bush of poking his nose in where it doesn't belong.'

I am 'struck' my the obvious (to me) & unusual use of punctuation marks, and the lack of capitalization where I would use it. You KNOW what I mean, I think. It did NOT bother me, but could at times.

I was uncertain, as I began to read this poem, as to what intrusions the speaker's nose was guilty of committing/'doing'. At first I thought the nose just had a super-sniffing ability.

'once I attempted to rid myself of it, but all my efforts were in vain, and wherever I went, it attracted their difficulties and placed me in danger.' YES, your 'nose' might get 'bent'! ! DON'T go online. bri : ) 5 stars

But now I'm satisfied that it's not the 'nose' like the fleshy above one's mouth, but...how can I explain it? Did I already state this: 'The meaning of STICK/POKE ONE'S NOSE IN/INTO is to get involved in or want information about (something that does not concern one) .' bri ; ])
