My Renewed Love Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

My Renewed Love

by Freeyad Ibrahim

Meeting the lover is a fire extinguished
Departing the Lover is a fire distinguished
Being far away from her is a risky task
Being too close to her is an effort relinquished
Serving her as her servant is my only duty
Taking her in my arms is a dream wished
If she feels happy, I fly to the sky
If she senses agony I am anguished
I loved her on her silent old picture first
Young, when she talked to me, she's distinguished
I didn't know the effect of her words until she talked
I went to the sea to fish but I've been fished
I saw myself big & tall as a giant in philosophy
Until she spoke, and has my wise words diminished
I don't deny I love her young, her young picture I wished
But I love her flesh not, her soul sweetened all I dished
I promise to love her until the end of my life
Until our wishes and ambitions all are finished
