My "skeletal" beginnings
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
This International Women's Day, I felt a wave of nostalgia for my engineer past
And came out with a gastronomist endeavour
On some famous inventions/scientific contributions
Of female pioneers and published it on Linked In;

Last year, on the same milestone of a day,
I had filed a Canadian e-petition, a feminist endeavour,
Which objected to only women resorting to nudity
And requested that adult-friendly magazines like NOW in Toronto
Also have men posing in their excited state of manhood
For the image would facilitate the completion of a sexual orgasm for masturbating women
And sexual health is imperative for mental and physical health;

Objecting to strict social line of thought
But valid where children and youth are concerned
I am going to talk about a beautiful poem by William Logan
Published in The Walrus (April 2019 issue)and which rues the fact
That Spring Unplugged leads to the wages of sin, eventually;

To all of you feminist women out there,
Prostitution and cooking/cleaning were the beginnings of women being in the workforce
These are age old professions, as I love to say in jest,
And in passing, I marvel at the level of conservatism
Expressed mildly in Hindu writings
But taken to extremes by the interpreters
And I am drawing your attention, dear reader, to a book
Handed to my son by a Hare Rama Hare Krishna "saintly person"
Free of cost in New York and titled Srimad Bhagavatam by Swami Prabhupada
Which says that flowery words must always be used to praise divinity and the glories of God;

But I say that flowery words like compliments and words of endearment
Lead to a romantic exchange
And unless there is a need for honest earnings,
These would lead to sexual relations as a result of romance
And wages of prostitution as a sin
Would not be frowned upon as a sin.
